OpenFace new course: Performance-based facade design
Goal: Assess façade performance in terms of structural, energy, thermal, acoustic, comfort and daylight criteria for buildings that are both user-centered and energy efficient.
Start: 29 October
End: 17 December
Instructor-paced
This course integrates advanced knowledge in facade engineering, building physics, and sustainable design. It bridges academic theory with hands-on practice (covering everything from laboratory testing and simulation to high-level facade consultancy) to help you tackle the key challenges of performance-based façade design. You’ll develop the ability to think beyond visual appeal and regulatory compliance, adopting a holistic approach that considers structure, energy efficiency, daylighting, acoustics, occupant comfort, and cost.
