Renovation Days 2025: An insightful and successful event on building decarbonization and facade innovation

From November 26-28 2025, BASE Milano hosted the 3rd edition of Renovation Days, Italy’s international event dedicated to innovative solutions for the decarbonization of buildings. The event was organised thanks to the collaboration between EDERA (the innovation hub for building sector decarbonization), the European Facade Network (EFN), and Eurac Research.

This edition of Renovation Days hosted over 700 participants from around EU and shared a clear and important message: making buildings’ renovation accessible is possible thanks to innovation, collaboration and novel industrialised processes.

On day one the event explored international policy frameworks and innovative urban strategies for building renovation. Among those, there was the presentation of the final results of H2020 INFINITE project which discussed about emerging technological solutions for deep renovation of buildings.

On day two the European Facade Network Conference – FAÇADE 2025 took place. The conference, brought together international experts, researchers, and industry leaders to examine cutting-edge developments in building envelope technology and their implications for sustainable building renovation.

The morning session, sponsored by Rockwool, focuses on “Industry and Innovation: Advanced Products and Technologies for Facade Retrofitting” and hosted experts from ARUP Milano, WSP, Bouygues Construction, Eco-loop, and TU Delft. The afternoon session, sponsored by Pellini, “From Research to Practice: Tools, Methodologies and Technologies for Building Envelope Regeneration” had presentations from TU Delft, Università degli Studi di Firenze, Università degli Studi di Catania, and Eurac Research.

The roundtable discussion sponsored by Manni Group, titled “Towards an Innovative Building Stock Deep Renovation” saw WSP, EDERA, INFINITE, Eurac Research, Federcasa, ARUP, UNICMI, and Isopan discussing about the future of deep renovation practices.

The final day was reserved to FACE Training Course (Façade Architecture Construction and Engineering), the specialized facades training program offered by Eurac Research.
